What was the last video you saw on YouTube? Was there an ad that played before it?
Did you skip it?
Relax, I’m no YouTube analyst and this isn’t a questionnaire, I skip ads too. The point I’m trying to make, however, is that video ads are a huge deal in today’s world. The power of storytelling can be taken to the next level with the help of video. Once create, a video ad is an asset that can be used and reused in various ways across social media platforms, website and even email campaigns to give your brand or product communication that extra boost. No wonder then, that forward thinking marketing managers today, are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to getting an effective brand message communicated via short and crisp video ads.
Some time back, one such forward thinking marketing professional approached Ashima Pictures to get a video ad made. And that became Ashima Pictures’ first ever corporate project – an official video advertisement for Freshersworld.com, a leading job portal for freshers in India, with a varied clientele that includes Toshiba, Facebook, Motorola and Amazon, among others.
Ashima Pictures was given the task of creating a unique video ad focusing on a very specific problem for HR recruiters – the problem of poor candidate turnout, which, as a result affects the chances of good candidate selection. Freshersworld.com wished to talk about their capability of providing customized solutions in this context. And Ashima Pictures was hired for the job!
The process was highly collaborative in nature as Ashima Pictures team worked closely with the marketing in-charge to co-create the brief, conceptualize the storyline, create the character sketches and storyboard for the ad concept. Whether it was scouting for appropriate actors or conducting recce, the client was kept in loop at all times so that the brand imagery and corporate appeal were ensured in all elements. The shoot and post-production were accomplished in a short time without compromising on the quality. The cherry on the cake was the great feedback that came from the client. Arjun Karath, the Senior Marketing Manager at Freshers World, had this to say about the product:
“That’s some cool work! Just saw the ad fully, it has come out great. I loved the work put into bringing out the characters through sketch. We loved your quick and professional way of dealing with things.”
